Sterilisation: It is the process of completely destroying pathogenic non-pathogenic microorganisms together with endospores. Dentistry is an environment susceptible to cross-infection due to blood, saliva and aerosols. To prevent this condition, sterilisation should be given importance. While working, gloves, masks, and eye protection should be used not to risk the health of the patient and the physician. In this way, the possibility of transmission between the patient and the physician can be minimised. Apart from these methods, the primary device that provides sterilisation is the autoclave. Sterilisation is supplied with pressurised water steam. It is preferred for sterilisation of materials resistant to high temperatures and will not deteriorate under these conditions.
