A filling is a procedure performed to treat tooth decay, abrasions, fractures and restore the old aesthetics and function of the tooth. The most commonly used materials for this procedure are composites and glass ionomers. Although amalgam was used in the past, it is no longer preferred because it does not meet aesthetic expectations, and new materials are developed. When the patient arrives, intraoral examinations are performed first, and intraoral x-rays are done. According to the results, the depth and the location of the decay are determined. During the treatment phase, the decay is removed with the help of rotary hand tools. Then the tooth is isolated with a rubber dam. For the filling to adhere to the tooth surface, the tooth is first roughened with acid, then washed, and bonding material is applied to ensure that the filling is adhered to and finished with composite. In deep decays, glass ionomer is applied under the composite material, and CaOH is applied in close proximity to the pulp. The task of glass ionomer cement is to increase the tightness, increase durability by reducing the amount of composite used, and position teeth by releasing fluoride. CaOH is used to induce dentin formation in the areas close to the pulp in that area. After the composite is placed in the patient’s mouth and hardened with light, the polishing process is performed.<\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
