The aim is to treat cases with chronic apical periodontitis where no result can be obtained despite recurrent endodontic treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-4f68e33d gb-headline-text\"><strong><strong>In which situations is it preferred?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cases where conventional endodontic treatment has failed<\/li><li>Symptoms and signs of a chronic apical or periapical lesion may be permanent after root canal treatment. If it is considered that no results can be obtained by repeated endodontic treatment, apical resection can be applied.<\/li><li>Anatomical Causes<\/li><li>Pathological Causes<\/li><li>Traumatic Causes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-37248fe3 gb-headline-text\">Following the decision of the procedure, radiographic evaluations are carried out for detailed site examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-2dc3acaa gb-headline-text\">Local anaesthetics are administered at the beginning of the procedure. The flap is lifted in the site, an osteotomy is performed, the root tip is resected, and the tooth is filled in retrograde. The flap is closed and sutured.
